Deanna Bogart plays rollicking piano, soulful saxophone, and is known for her firecracker live performances. Adding elements of contemporary blues, country and Nora Jones-like jazz to her repertoire, Bogart has created a unique fusion of musical styles. Dr. Duke Tumatoe's CD, You've Got The Problem!, marks the return of another artist to the Pig Pen. Dr. Duke has been filling blues-rock prescriptions live since his early days in South Side Chicago playing with Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, and Buddy Guy, and later with the popular rock group REO Speedwagon. He released a pair of LPs on Blind Pig in the early 80's and later recorded an album for Warner Brothers produced by John Fogerty of Creedence Clearwater. The guitarist/songwriter built a large following and reputation in the Midwest based on his irreverent, wacky, and occasionally raunchy lyrics and novelty tunes. Nowadays Dr. Duke is practicing his brand of humor with his weekly appearances on the nationally syndicated "Bob & Tom" radio show, as well as in live performances with his band, The Power Trio. You've Got The Problem! is Dr. Duke at his zany best, skillfully mixing humorous songs with straight ahead power rockers.

Der 1953 in North Little Rock in Arkansas aufgewachsene Gitarrist und Sänger präsentiert im Bluesiana eine eigene, modern gespielte Mischung aus Soul, Blues, Rock und Raggae.
Anfang zwanzig gründet er seine erste eigene Band und tourt über die Jahre die USA af und ab - mit einer großen Anzahl bekannter Namen steht er in dieser Zeit auf der Bühne und im Plattenstudio - Vernon Garrett, Willy Clayton, Chaka Chan, Denise LaSalle und viele andere mehr zählen dazu. Erst 2001 veröffentlicht er sein Debütalbum "Prime Suspect for the Blues" auf Cyborg Blue Recording.
Die Aufnahmen vom Dezember 2004, allesamt Eigenkompositionen des bisher in Europa wenig bekannten, spieltechnisch und gesanglich überzeugenden Jones, entstanden mit Hilfe holländischer Musiker um den Black & Tan-Labelchef und Gitarristen Jan Mittendorp.
Es wird eine wahnsinns Show werden.

Die Songwriterin aus New York zählt zu gerne gehörten Gästen in Österreich. Bei ihren Club-Tourneen steht dann auch nur eines im Mittelpunkt: die Musik.

Weil in der Musikbranche gerne mit Namen operiert wird, muss Ann Klein damit leben, dass ihr Stellenwert als Songwriterin oft mit dem Hinweis "Gitarristin von Joan Osborne und Ani DiFranco" aufgeputzt wird. Dabei wäre das nicht notwendig, wenn man sich nur darauf beschränkt, Ann Klein über ihr musikalisches Schaffen zu entdecken.

Die Themen, um die sich ihre feinen Songs drehen, sind sehr persönlich angelegt. Es geht um das Vermissen, um enttäuschte Liebe, um das Gefühl, nur ein Teil eines Spieles zu sein. Teilweise zusammen mit dem New Yorker Produzenten Tim Hatfield geschrieben, sind Klein's Songs von einer schlichten Eleganz, der man sich nicht entziehen kann.

„Wenn es jemanden in Österreich gibt der das spielt was man unter „Contemporary Blues“ versteht, ist es der Steirer Oliver Mally mit seiner Band der Blues Distillery“

Die „Blues Distillery“ darf mit Sicherheit als die führende Band Österreichs, in Sachen „Contemporary Blues“ bezeichnet werden. Die musikalische Bandbreite des Quartetts reicht stilistisch von Texas Blues über Chicago Blues bis hin zu Westcoast Blues und anderem Songmaterial.

Der Großteil der Titel stammt aus der eigenen Feder und zeichnet sich durch große Eigenständigkeit aus. Gelegentlich wird das eine oder andere Cover aus der Feder eines Steve Earle, Tommy Castro, Muddy Waters etc. eingestreut. Aber auch hierbei wird auf eigenständige Interpretation Wert gelegt ohne den Respekt vor dem Original zu verlieren.

Die Band stilistisch „festzunageln“ ist kaum möglich weil bei der „Distillery“ der Blues mit allen möglichen Spielarten kokettiert. Auf jeden Fall wird ein „hoch-energetisches“ Gebräu serviert, von einer Band, die keine Gefangenen macht.
